Gerrit Losch was actually once an apostate.
by Julia Orwell ina jw friend of mine (who was one of my besties until i told him i didn't believe jw religion anymore) used to live in austria and for a while in the 70's was in the same congregation as losch.
they used to spend some time together in the ministry.
my jw friend tells me that he and losch used to often talk about how they believed the wt was wrong about certain interpretations of the bible, for example, how at the time the wt taught that the mustard tree used by jesus in an illustration represented an evil kingdom, and losch and friend didn't think that was right.

You have to realize you're on an "open forum" with a mixed bunch. Advice - Don't live your yourself on an open highway if you don't want to get run over...learn to say F**k off or don't read threads or post on threads that will only upset you...
Right now I'm open......is there some kind of god? Is there not a god? Who the hell REALLY knows.....it's all personl opionion....anyone knows for sure...I've got a bridge to sell ya......
What I do know without questions is....the WTS and GB are Con Artists....
Anyway, as scary as the thought is.....I want to meet ET's.......

associated presswed nov 6, 2013 3:34 pmspring hill, fla. a florida school district has suspended a teacher after requiring a fourth grade jehovahs witness to participate in the pledge of allegiance.. the tampa tribune (http://bit.ly/1arwmom) reports that the hernando county school board recently concluded an investigation.. the student, who is jehovahs witness and prohibited by the religion from worshiping objects, refused on religious grounds, the investigation found.. officials said teacher anne daigle-mcdonald twice placed the students hand over his heart when the class recited the pledge.. the student told mcdonald during the incident that jehovahs witnesses do not worship objects, and that he stood during the pledge of allegiance out of respect for the country, but was not permitted by his religion to place his hand over his heart, according to the investigation.. after the student informed mcdonald of this, mcdonald went to the front of the class and said, if you dont want to say the pledge, you still have to put your hand on your heart and if you dont want to do that, you should move out of the country, according to the report.. the report also shows mcdonald said something about there not being a religion that prohibits doing the pledge, according to the investigation.. the district says that mcdonald violated a host of state education rules, professional conduct principles and the students right to free speech and freedom of religion.
several other students in the class corroborated the allegations, according to the investigation.. mcdonald was removed from student contact, and placed on alternative assignment on sept. 12.. while speaking to administrators at the school on that date, mcdonald said she thought the religion applied only to holidays, but said she did not attempt to contact the students parents for clarification, according to the report.. the investigation showed that she also said she didnt think it was good practice to regularly place hands on students, and that she feels strongly as a citizen of the united states that one should show respect to the flag.. superintendent lori romano ordered mcdonald be suspended five days without pay, reported the incident to florida department of education and ordered mcdonald provide proof of completion of diversity training..

All you have to do is just check for that extra email folder ..they don't charge you......

by Oh Gawd innew guy here so i thought i would make a brief introduction.. my exposure to the jw's is indirect, as i have never been a member; however my wife of 22 years grew up in a jw household.
her dad is the grand-pooba or whatever level of "elder" you call it for his kh.
her mom, sister, brother, and their spouses all died in the wool witnesses.

by DS211 indoes anyone believe or put any truth to the stuff on this show?
from what i can see its pretty cool stuff.
seems to tie in a lot of social ideas about religions and prayer and interaction with a spirit realm.

Have you grown detached from caring about JW family and old friends?
by tootired2care inafter being out of the borg for a year and a half, weve dealt with a lot of nonsense from local elders stopping by unannounced, well-meaning do-gooders trying to encourage us.
somehow weve managed to get through this without getting dfd/dad.
for me the worst part of it all has been that much of my family has shunned me, and stopped talking to me, as soon as they heard through the grapevine that i wasnt going to meetings.

whathappened you're really lucky to have your family....
My closest aunt shunned me for many years. I would call her anyway just to check in, see how's she's doing as she's gaining in years. At the time I do believe the worst part of it was, once she knew it was me on the phone, her voice changed to a cold chill. I'd continue to call every so often no matter what. I'd keep it short.....saying" Just checking to see how you're doing". After many years of this she's finally dropping her guard. Even called two weeks ago and asked if there was anything I needed or anything she could do for me
As my daughter got more involved with the JW's I could see she started calling me less and less. But I continued calling, checking in, sending short emails and now for some odd reason, she too has recently dropped her guard a bit more.
My personal thought is ...I do love them and going to do the loving thing.......screw them if they can't handle it...
